IEP/IPRC Clinic

This clinic assists parents in overcoming their anxiety and insecurity when attending IEP meetings. Participants learn how to construct SMART IEP's ( that are Specific, Measurable, use Action words, are Realistic, and Time-limited) in collaboration with the school. Meeting monthly throughout the school year, parents are instructed and guided through the annual IEP/IPRC cycle. Each clinic is restricted to 10 participants and costs a very affordable $20 per monthly meeting.

Informed Consent Workshop

Parents are often asked by their children's school to sign legal documents. Too often their signatures are given up without a modicum of understanding of the consent their signature conveys. In some cases, doors are closed permanently on the child's educational options; in others, privacy goes out the window. Workshop topics include IPRC/IEP forms, EQAO Exemption forms, Behavior Contracts, Privacy Waivers and Permission forms, among others. Information provided in this clinic is vetted by an attorney. This 3-hour workshop is offered periodically at a cost of $25 per attendee.

Due Process Workshops

Informed parents learn how to disagree with school decisions without becoming disagreeable. Offered periodically at a cost of $25 per participant, each 2-hour workshop steps parents through the appeal process for suspensions, expulsions, exemptions, identification and placement or failure to accomodate a disability.
